“Easter Sunday Conflict” Sunday April 21, 2019

1 Kings 20:29, And they encamped opposite each other for seven days. So it was that on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand foot soldiers of the Syrians in one day.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
God’s people and Syria camped opposite each other 7 days- like the week between the Triumphal Entrance of Jesus on Palm Sunday and Easter.
Prayer Focus #1: Satan’s Battle forces were rallied when the devil saw that people were gathering around Jesus proclaiming Him king and Lord. Pray tonight that as we near the second coming of our Lord and satan is rallying his demons and unrighteous men, we will continue to proclaim Jesus as the Lord of life, death, and the Lord of how we should live in the day of a crooked and perverse generation.
Prayer Focus #2: The entire week was filled with tension between the forces of good and evil- the triumphal entry, the cleansing of the Temple, the last supper with the revelation of the one who would betray Jesus, the Gethsemane prayer time, the arrest of Jesus, the mock trial, the scourging and then the cross. As Israel and Syria were encamped opposite of each other for a week, Heaven’s best was opposite the demonic border of hell.
Pray that as the coming of our Lord Jesus draws near and evil will about- the church will be prepared to receive the abounding grace of God that will keep our hearts and minds through Christ.
Prayer Focus #3: The seven-day encampment fraught with border skirmishes culminated with the weekend activities of crucifixion and Resurrection. Pray that we might see the great victory of the cross and Easter as our victory over the world of unrighteousness we live in today. Israel won a great battle over 10,000 in one day. On one day, Easter, Jesus won the greatest battle of all- for the souls of men. He won the battle over billions of souls on that one day 20,000 years ago. Pray that we in America will be as faithful to share the story with our fellow countrymen as much as we do though world missions. Celebrate the Risen Lord!
