Sunday July 7, 2019 “God’s One Voice”

1 Kings 22:11-14: Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made horns of iron for himself; and he said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘With these you shall gore the Syrians until they are destroyed.’ ” And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the Lord will deliver it into the king’s hand.” Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.” And Micaiah said, “As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
This text starts off in favor of the springs of Judah and Israel but we will discover in the scripture that even though there were many prophetic voices of encouragement to enter into battle with Syria. They spoke of great victory of God’s people.
The Lord had one servant Micaiah who valued truth more than popularity.
Prayer Focus #1: Pray that our leaders would not be deceived by the voice of the many who always say peace, safety, victory, etc. Many who professed to know the Lord will only say what will gain them fame and popularity.
Prayer Focus #2: V.13 tells us that the King’s servant sent to call the prophet Micaiah said to the prophet, “Now be a good boy and agree with the rest. Pray that there be those other than “yes men” who will give counsel to our leaders.
Prayer Focus #3: Micaiah told the servant, “I will only speak truth, “Many years later the apostle Paul would write “People who do not have a love for the truth will perish.” Pray that all Americans will develop a love for the truth about God and how to live in righteousness.
