Sunday July 21, 2019 “Prisons of One’s Own Making”

1 Kings 22:26-27- 26 So the king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son; 27 and say, ‘Thus says the king: “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace.” ’ ”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Prayer Focus #1  Ahab, the King of Israel, was sending the true Prophet of God Micaiah to leaders whom he thought would limit the Prophet.  PRAY that our righteous leaders in D.C. will not be limited by the actions of others who are influenced by unrighteous leaders.  Believers don’t belong in prison, they have been set free.
Prayer Focus #2  Ahab told his servants, “Go and have this man Micaiah, eat and drink affliction.”  PRAY that God will protect our leaders from the afflictions that the enemy would place upon them through “trumped up” charges and hateful accusations.
Prayer Focus #3  King Ahab thought he could out run God and return from the battle at Ramoth-Gilead against Syria unscathed and at peace.  PRAY that those who think they can outthink and outrun God will find themselves in a position of being captivated themselves by the Spirit of God who alone can change their hearts and correct their plans and hearts.
