Sunday, November 3, 2019 “A Word From Heaven”
2 Kings 3:10 & 11 10 And the king of Israel said, “Alas! For the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”
11 But Jehoshaphat said, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, “Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
When the king of Israel caused confusion implying that God was leading the three nations into a disaster, Jehoshaphat spoke up with a voice of reason. That evoked the response from a servant saying, “there is one who hears from heaven who can tell us what to do.”
Prayer Focus #1 In every generation there are those who bring disparaging words. When Israel had the opportunity to enter the Promised Land not long after leaving Egyptian slavery, 10 spies discouraged millions of Israelites and they chose to not enter the land. The results was 40 years of wandering around the wilderness. PRAY that our leaders and the general population will not yield to disparaging words birthed in lies. PRAY that Truth be revealed and followed in this wonderful land God has blessed so much.
Prayer Focus #2 Jehoshaphat was courageous and spoke up, “Isn’t there someone who has the Word of God we need right now?” PRAY that God’s men and women will seek the Lord as to who has the Word of the Lord and speak up like Joshua and Caleb did when the 10 spies brought an evil report. We need a Word from Heaven, my friends. God will elevate that “voice” if we truly want to hear it and have faith to follow it.
Prayer Focus #3 A servant identified the faithful servant of Elijah, Elisha as one who had a Word from the Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to serve and He brought a Word from Heaven. PRAY that the humble servant of the Lord will bring the names of trusted servants to our leaders. Names of those who have faithfully served others and are known for having a Word from God to direct and protect His people.
