Sunday, November 10, 2019 “Stand Before the Lord First”

2 Kings 3:13 & 14 13 Then Elisha said to the king of Israel, “What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him, “No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.” 14 And Elisha said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you.

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Elisha had learned courage from the Prophet Elijah. He also learned how to discern the spirit motivating a person. Now let us use this knowledge to PRAY tonight as we seek God’s favor upon our land. Also PRAY for our military – former and currently serving for tomorrow is Veterans Day.

Prayer Focus #1 PRAY that God would have men and women of faith who have a platform to speak to the President and other leaders that will understand they must stand before God before they stand before man to counsel and instruct. It is so easy to simply operate out of knowledge and miss the current Word of the Lord needed at the moment.

Prayer Focus #2 Elisha respected King Jehoshaphat who understood that in unsure times – being surrounded by the enemy the nation needed a Word from God. PRAY for our leaders in America will understand this principle and seek the Lord who not only gives the answer but also is the answer for our nation today.

Prayer Focus #3 Elisha spoke clearly that he would seek God’s counsel only because he knew the heart of Jehoshaphat. Elisha did not care for Jehoram because of his evil heart and he was not afraid to say that to Jehoram. PRAY that men and women of God will courageously speak with clarity concerning which leaders are following the Lord and which ones are not.
