Sunday January 19, 2020 “Lay It Down and Shut the Door”

2 Kings 4:20-21 When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died. 21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out.

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

The Shunammite lady just lost the son who was given to her by God through the promise given by the Prophet Elisha. She now did the things she must to see God’s best for her son. We must pray that we will follow her example and see positive results when we face difficult times in life as individuals and a nation.
Prayer Focus #1 “She (the Shunammite) went up”. When facing an impossible situation – when things are slipping slowly into a place that seems no good can come, we must pray and let the word of God guide us as we ascend to heavenly places with Christ in the Spirit. From that place pray that God will be revealed so we know how to proceed in faith. “Go Up!”
Prayer Focus #2 She laid the child on the bed of God’s man. This was a point of contact where the anointing of God could rise from the dead and could flow. Pray that our leaders will find points of contact that will be life-giving partners in domestic and international affairs and challenges to peace.
Prayer Focus #3 The woman shut the door and went out. It does no good to focus on the condition and situation you face. Pray that we will shut out negative voices and focus on the great restorer and His promises.
