Sunday, January 26, 2020 “It is Well”
2 Kings 4:23-24 23 So he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.” And she said, “It is well.” 24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward; do not slacken the pace for me unless I tell you.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
The Shunamite’s husband wondered why his wife was going to see the preacher on any regular day. All she could respond was, “It is well.” The Shunamite then told her driver “to go forward and don’t slow down unless I say so.”
Prayer Focus #1 The Shunamite did not wait until “church day” to go to the preacher. PRAY that Believers in the nation today will begin to practice a lifestyle of prayer – taking things to God quickly expecting God to hear and answer according His Will. “Ask and you shall receive.”
Prayer Focus #2 When asking about her timing on going to the man of God, her reply was simply, “It is well.” The Shunamite told her husband everything is O.K. In the natural, nothing could be further from the truth. In typology the man was Christ and the Shunamite was the church. May God’s people be fully informed of circumstances in life yet have the words, “It is well” knowing that God is on our side. A good confession of faith always trumps the faithless testimony, “I don’t know what to do.” God honors our profession of faith.
Prayer Focus #3 Go driver, and let no one hinder our mission. PRAY that our leaders in Washington understand the urgency and the importance of the mission they are on today – life and death of a nation is at stake.
