Sunday February 9, 2020 “Ready to Go”

2 Kings 4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, “Get yourself ready, and take my staff in your hand, and be on your way. If you meet anyone, do not greet him; and if anyone greets you, do not answer him; but lay my staff on the face of the child.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

The Prophet Elisha told Gehazi his servant to “get ready, take my staff (walking stick) and hurry to the Shunammite’s son who had died and lay the staff on his face There were three steps to follow and even though the mission didn’t turn out as expected, we can learn from these three steps how we can restore American life where we respect one another’s rights and respect our constitution.
Prayer Focus #1 Those of us who desire to see life in America as the founders intended must be ready at all times to defend truth about who we are to be as a people and how to deal with current cultural issues. Pray that believers in America will practice readiness in everyday life.
Prayer Focus #2 “Hurry in your mission” said the prophet. Timing is always important. Many times there are only windows of opportunity for one to do necessary things. However, we must always do as our first focus tells us – prepare and be ready first. Pray that we will be in God’s timing as far as what we pursue in bringing America back to God.
Prayer Focus #3 The staff that Elisha used was most helpful over rough terrain. He passed the staff to Gehazi his servant knowing that he would be facing death itself. Pray that all of us will help prepare the next generation to face future giants by sharing stories of victories won in our generation.
