Sunday March 22, 2020 “The Prophet Heard”

2 Kings 5:8 So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Yesterday we saw that the King of Syria sent to the king of Israel a request to have his key Captain Naaman healed of his leprosy. The King of Israel thought that this was a set up for war because this would be an impossible request.
The Prophet Elisha heard that his king tore his robes – a sign of humility and frustration because of the situation he found himself in. The Prophet requested an answer as to why the King of Israel took such measures.
You can view a message on hope preached at 11 am today on the jccag.org website.
Prayer Focus #1 As Elisha inquired as to why the king tore his robes in utter frustration, pray that Christian leaders all across America will have a heart of compassion toward our leaders and lead their “congregations” in how to pray and act prudently during this unprecedented health event in this land we love.
Prayer Focus #2 Elisha sent a message to the king. During these very stressful times that led President Trump to declare a National Day of Prayer one week ago, let us continue to pray for leaders local and national. The Bible teaches us they are in office for our good. Pray that God’s strength, health and wisdom be given to those who serve this nation and give thanks for them.
Prayer Focus #3 Elisha put out the challenge, “Let Naaman come to me, then he will know that there is a prophet or man of God in Israel.” Pray that humbly yet confidently we will declare that seeking God in repentance proclaiming the Name of Jesus, the Name above every Name and pleading the power of His precious blood will bring down this enemy of mankind called Covid 19.
