Sunday March 29, 2020 “The Best Under the Circumstances”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

2 Kings 5:12 12 Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

These are words of the Syrian Captain Naaman who was afflicted with leprosy, the most dread disease of his day. The Prophet Elisha had just instructed the great military leader on how to be healed. He was to dip in the Jordan River seven times.

Prayer Focus #1: Naaman thought he had the best remedy – dipping in the rivers back home. But God’s best was the waters of the Jordan. Pray that as there are many who will say they have a cure, better test or vaccine for the Covid 19 virus that the best solutions will be accepted by the experts in the research field and the President’s team assembled to bring the situation to a halt that has affected so many Americans.

Prayer Focus #2: The waters of Israel (Jordan) were rejected. In Naaman’s mind God’s solution was not to be considered. A couple of weeks ago President Trump called for a Day of Prayer concerning the Corona Virus. Pray that there will be more of an emphasis on the spiritual answers to the current dilemma by both Government and Christian leaders in America. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still God’s recipe for success.

Prayer Focus #3: It seems that Naaman stormed out in a rage. James 1:20 tells us that the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Pray that during this time that people will bring their emotions under the obedience of Jesus Christ and behave themselves wisely realizing that many people are doing the best they can with the unprecedented situation. Also pray for people to practice self-control when out in public at stores, pharmacies, etc. A little kindness and tolerance must be exercised to avoid a problem when stress levels are high. Let’s all do our best considering the circumstances.
