Sunday April 5, 2020 “Stick with the One True God”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

2 Kings 5:17-18 17 So Naaman said, “Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD. 18 Yet in this thing may the LORD pardon your servant: when my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon—when I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the LORD please pardon your servant in this thing.”

The Syrian Captain attempted to give a gift of appreciation to the Prophet Elisha for his healing from leprosy. Elisha refused the offer and the Naaman asked to take some soil from Israel to Syria, so he could worship the one true God in his home country. Then, knowing it would be correct to do, Naaman said, “When I go into the Temple of Rimmon and bow down to the false god pardon or forgive me for doing this.”

Prayer Focus #1: Somehow Naaman wanted to keep a point of contact with Israel’s God. Pray that people who hear about our Jesus during this time of crisis and pray to the one true God will keep points of contact open after this season passes.

Prayer Focus #2: Naaman said I will not worship any other god but Israel’s God. Pray that people who are part of non-Christian religions will make a decision for Jesus.

Prayer Focus #3: Although Naaman said he would not worship other gods he said to forgive him for going to the Temple of Rimmon where he used to worship. Pray that the desire and drawing of familiar spirits will be broken in the days ahead after the Covid 19 crisis passes. Also pray that people will not go back to the familiar place that will militate against their newfound faith in Jesus Christ and Israel’s God.
