Monday April 13, 2020 “Is all well?”

2 Kings 5:22 And he said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.’ ”

I hope you had a blessed Easter with family and or friends or just between you and Jesus. After all, He is the one Easter is all about. Yesterday we took a break from the Book of Second Kings. Today we are back on the track the Lord put us on when President Trump took office. We began in the Book of First Kings. It has been an amazing journey going through the verses and discover how we can be praying for current events in our world.
On Friday we discovered that the Syrian Naaman who recently confessed that Israel’s God was the only God had a heart for others – asking Gehazi, “Is all well?”
We prayed that people will have a genuine concern for others. Today’s verse finds Gehazi, Elisha’s servant being disingenuous. He answered, “all is well.” All was not well with Gehazi – he was lying. Pray that truth will be valued and exercised as reporting on the Covid-19 crisis continues. We need to have truth in these days – not political spin or false optimism.
