Tuesday June 23, 2020 “A King Who Listens”
2 Kings 6:30 Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he tore his clothes; and as he passed by on the wall, the people looked, and there underneath he had sackcloth on his body.
What the King heard was there was a deal made between two women. Because of a prevailing famine due to their city being under siege by their enemy, the Syrians, the two mothers agreed to kill and eat their sons. After the first child became dinner for the two, the other woman didn’t give up her son for a luncheon for two.
Of course the King was horrified and tore his garments when he heard what happened in his kingdom. The king was impacted because he was a good listener.
Prayer focus: The king heard. Pray that our leaders in America will hear the people. We must listen to be able to respond.
