Sunday August 30, 2020 “The Lord has Shown Me”

2 Kings 8:13 So Hazael said, “But what is your servant—a dog, that he should do this gross thing?” And Elisha answered, “The LORD has shown me that you will become king over Syria.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America.

The prophet Elisha told Hazael with great emotion that Hazael would be responsible for atrocious acts of violence toward God’s people. V.13 tells us Hazael’s response: “I can’t believe what you are saying.” But the Lord revealed it to Elisha. All of the evil that Elisha told Hazael would be done because he would become King.
Let us pray in agreement the following prayer points found in this verse:

Prayer Focus #1 Hazael thought that there was no way he could be responsible for such awful deeds. He didn’t know that he would become king after Ben Hadad, making it possible for him to be responsible for such acts of violence. Pray that politicians running for office in November will realize they have in their hand, if elected, to do good or evil. May God change the heart of the king as He speaks to them of the power they have in their hand.
Prayer Focus #2 Elisha had a word from the Lord and he was not afraid or ashamed to tell Hazael – “this is a word from God”. Pray that men and women of God who are close to people in authority will have boldness speaking God’s truth to those in authority.
Prayer Focus #3 Elisha spoke a word that seemed to be beyond comprehension to Hazael – “You will be the next king of Syria.” Any position of authority is important and it should never be taken lightly. Pray that the awesome weight of responsibility will challenge all political candidates and incumbent leaders as to what they would do if they serve America “under God.”
