We Are The People

2 Kings 9:35-37   So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. ³⁶ Therefore they came back and told him. And he said, “This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel; ³⁷ and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “Here lies Jezebel.” ’ ”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Judgement Day had come for Jezebel.  King Jehu called for her to be thrown out of a “window” and that is exactly what happened.  When we read the description of what happened to Jezebel’s corpse, it makes us cringe but what happened was prophesied by Elijah.  The severity of the punishment was due to the degree of her sin and her influence of evil toward God’s people.  Let us pray tonight the following three prayer focus points:

Prayer Focus #1  All that was left of Jezebel was her extremities (hands and feet) and her skull.  The trunk of her body was devoured.  Pray that all of the “trunk” or strength of that which has brought evil influence to America will be exposed, cast down and stripped of its strength.

Prayer Focus #2  The men sent to bury Jezebel discovered what had happened to her body and they told Jehu their findings. Pray that accurate reports of that which is destructive to America morally and constitutionally will be reported to the American public so all citizens can support and vote for people that reflect their vales and views.

Prayer Focus #3  v. 37  tells us that the prophetic word was clear – there would not be enough of Jezebel to say, “Here lies Jezebel.”  Pray that forces of evil will be minimized in their effectiveness, to the degree people won’t even recognize its effect on American life and culture.
