Sunday November 29, 2020 “Along the Way”

2 Kings 10:12  And he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way, at Beth Eked of the Shepherds,

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Jehu had all of evil King Ahab’s great men, acquaintances and priests killed in the city of Jezreel.  Then Jehu headed for Samaria.  Many times it is in the journey as much as at the destination where the work of God is accomplished.  This happened many times in Jesus’ ministry.  Tonight let us look at this short verse and discover 3 points of prayer.

Prayer Focus #1  Jehu arose and set out for Samaria.  Let us pray that men and women of God will arise to accomplish righteous goals for America.  It begins with arising out of our comfort and to pursue what we believe is the next step for God’s will to be accomplished, especially those who are our leaders in America.

Prayer Focus #2  “On the way” to Samaria.  Jehu knew that he must go to Samaria even as Jesus did in John 4 when He met the woman at Jacob’s well.

Let us pray today that our leaders in America will have a sense of where we would like to end up as a nation, but also let us be alert to see what God is doing as we pursue God’s will.  David was destined for the throne but he first had to face the giant along the way.

Prayer Focus #3  Jehu found himself in Beth Eked of the Shepherds.  Beth Eked means the “Shearing house.”  Some “sheep” needed to be sheared and it just happened to be on the route to Samaria.  Let’s pray tonight that we will see with God’s eyes those who are shepherds that need to be sheared like Jesus said that vines must be pruned to produce much fruit.  God desires fruit.  Let us all recognize God-sized opportunities on our way to Samaria where we can, as Jesus did, find one individual that will win an entire city to God through the “woman at the Well.”
