Christmas has come and gone, and we go back to the book of 2 Kings for our prayer guide. Jehu was a good king for he did away with the evil that Ahab and Jezebel brought into the land. However, Jehu failed to abandon the sins of the fathers.

Pray today that we as Americans will distance ourselves from the traditions and attitudes that have evolved in American life that grieves the heart of God. Let us be the people of God who will begin new patterns of lifestyle and justice that will make the heart of God rejoice.
