We Are The People

2 Kings 11:7 “The two contingents of you who go off duty on the Sabbath shall keep the watch of the house of the Lord for the king.”

Interesting to note that there is a mention of the Sabbath in the midst of security measures. I believe there is a two fold purpose here. To stress the importance of the spiritual- “Unless the Lord keeps the city they watch in vain.” Then there is the need for rest and refreshing.

Pray that God will have his place in the hearts of those who are guarding our land and people and that there be times of rest for those who keep us safe. Pray that there will be sufficient funding to secure the budget to sustain the safety of our land and republic.
