2 Kings 14:3 “³And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like his father David; he did everything as his father Joash had done.”

Amaziah did all his father, King Joash, had done but he didn’t follow wholly in the path of king David, Amaziah’s ancestor. Pray that when men and women of faith are elected to positions of authority they will go beyond the goodness of their father. David was “a man after God’s own heart.” He was a good man to follow since he always sought the Lord to find His heart in the matters of the day. David desired God’s best for the land.
