2 Kings 14:5 “⁵ Now it happened, as soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, that he executed his servants who had murdered his father the king.

A purging had to be done before something good could be established in Judah. First the land had to be firmly in the hand of king Amaziah through good appointments of those who would surround the king. Then the purging would begin. Those who destroyed his father would be destroyed. Now, let me be clear. We are never to murder people, but we must minimize their influence and ability to manipulate and derail good leadership. Pray that good leaders will take this approach. Establish then destroy (eliminate) even at the risk of looking politically incorrect.
