Friday April 30, 2021 “Thistles and Cedars”

2 Kings 14:8-9 “Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let us face one another in battle.” And Jehoash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife’; and a wild beast that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled the thistle.”

The threatening Amaziah was but a thistle who thought he was a Cedar or maybe even a strong oak. Pray that when America elects leaders we will choose the cedars of Lebanon that know how to deal adverse conditions and their legacy is over the years – not a “flash in the pan” blowing in the seasonal winds.
