2 Kings 14:14 “¹⁴ And he took all the gold and silver, all the articles that were found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king’s house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.”

Jehoash king of Israel took treasure from his brothers, Judah and took hostages. Of all acts of violence being taken hostage is probably one of the most dangerous crimes. Victims live in constant fear of injury or death. Sometime their worst fears came upon them.

Pray today that people who feel they are taken hostage by differing political and moral views will find peace in the security they have in Christ understanding he paid the ransom and has brought freedom through his sacrificial death on the cross.
