Sunday May 9,2021 “They Lived, They Died”
2 Kings 14:15-17
“15 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did—his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah—are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 16 So Jehoash rested with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. Then Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.17 Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, lived fifteen years after the death of Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. Most of us have heard the story of the “Dash.” The one between the date of birth and the date of death on a grave marker. That person whether great or small meet the same physical destination: death. Understanding that truth let us pray:
Prayer Focus #1 Pray that our leaders in America will be sobered by these facts: First that they will not live forever but others will live beyond their lifetime. What leaders do in one generation impacts the next.
Prayer Focus #2 As were all that the kings of Israel and Judah did were written down in a book, so are every action of America’s leaders today. Let us pray that those who lead, judge and legislate will realize their names and actions will be spoken of in our nation and history books for many years to come.
Prayer Focus #3 Every leader will have someone to follow them. Pray that men and women who now serve as leaders in America or those who aspire to serve will seek the favor of God to be in influential positions and keep a focus on serving God through serving our nation; Righteousness shall exalt the nation.
