Sunday May 23, 2021 “Do It Right”

2 Kings 15:5-7

Then the Lord struck the king, so that he was a leper until the day of his death; so he dwelt in an isolated house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the royal house, judging the people of the land. Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? So Azariah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David. Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

King Azariah got leprosy as a result of his lack of total obedience to God and he was in isolation. His son Jotham began doing some of the royal duties.

Prayer Focus #1 To be isolated is difficult to deal with, especially if you are one in charge. Pray tonight for our leaders to not be isolated but that they will work hard at working together with other leaders in a collaborative, respectful way.

Prayer Focus #2 Jotham judged the land when his father became incapable due to the leprosy and subsequent isolation. Pray that if and when we face a situation like what happened with Azariah that there will be competent guidance by those given the responsibility of the leader who cannot serve due to their illness.

Prayer Focus #3 Jotham reigned in his father’s place. And that not until his father died. Pray that there will always remain a respect for constitutions and proper protocol in any situation like Azariah and Jotham.
