Sunday July 18, 2021 “Carried Away”
2 Kings 17:6 “
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria took Samaria and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah and by the Habor, the River of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. In verse 5, we saw in yesterdays WATP prayer blog that Samaria had been besieged for 3 years by Assyria who had checked out the Lord’s people – their strengths and weaknesses. Now Samaria was under siege. The Capitol City was taken over by the enemy of God’s people. Let us pray against the spirit of captivity that lies in wait against God’s people. Prayer Focus #1 Pray that our Capitol will not be taken by enemies of America who have spend time and treasure spying us out and discovering the weakness of our open and vulnerable society.
Prayer Focus #2 Israel was carried away to Assyria and put in certain places. Pray that we as Christians will not be carried away to places we should not go by people influenced by Satan to bring the church down to the moral level of people who do not know the Lord.
Prayer Focus #3 One of the places Israel was taken to from their home was near the river Habor which means fascination and charm. The Apostle Paul tells us that in the last days there will be demonic spirits that seduce people into things that seem harmless but in reality they lead to destruction for young uniformed believers. Pray that these lying seductive spirits over America and especially in Washington DC be bound in Jesus name lest our leaders be carried away in foolishness.
