2 Kings 17:15 “And they rejected His statutes and His covenant that He had made with their fathers, and His testimonies which He had testified against them; they followed idols, became idolaters, and went after the nations who were all around them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them that they should not do like them.”

The first step into becoming idolaters is for someone to follow idols. This is spending an inordinate amount of time on a sport, hobby, etc. that takes away from the time and devotion we should invest in our relationship with God. Pray that we as God’s people in America will recognize the warning signs that we have turned away from our one true God to the ways of the worthless pursuit of satisfaction and gratification by things that cannot last.
