2 Kings17:17 “¹⁷ And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.”

This verse is filled with nuggets to use as prayer guides. God’s people of old sacrificed their sons and daughters to idols. In our modern world, people offer their children up to idols (idolatry is compared to covetousness) through abortion. Most abortions are due to convenience. An untimely addiction to one’s life can hinder the mother or father’s pursuit of career, education, or recreation. Pray that the conviction of the Holy Spirit fall upon women considering abortion and that America will be convicted of allowing the killing of the unborn in our land for convenience sake. Pray that the spirit of death be broken.
