We Are The People

2 Kings 17:32

^“32 So they feared the Lord, and from every class they appointed for themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the shrines of the high places.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Fearing the True God yet serving other “gods”. It is a bad pattern to follow but in America today we see this surface as it did in Samaria of old. You see there are many religions that have an unhealthy fear of the “god or gods” they have “created” and serve. I have seen this happen time and again where those people who are unfamiliar with the God of America will attempt to mix their phobia about god with the love of Jehovah God and the reverential fear He deserves as our Great Creator who became our Savior.

Prayer Focus #1 Pray that as we have a great influx of people who have grown up in a land that serves other gods, will be met with the true church of Jesus Christ that will bring them the message of salvation and freedom to worship God without an unhealthy fear of God.

Prayer Focus #2 Pray that people on the fringe of Christianity will not gather radical worshippers of false gods that become seed-beds of fanaticism and cultish behavior.

Prayer Focus #3 “Fearing God yet serving other gods and holding to their rituals.” This can start out as seeming harmless but can result in religious experiences and a departure from obedience of God’s command “to have no other gods before me.”

Pray that Christians who disciple will be bold to speak the truth in love about our worship and service to the one true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
