We Are The People

2 Kings 18:28 “²⁸ Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew, and spoke, saying, “Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria!”

The messenger Rabshakeh brought a message from whom he described as “the great king of Assyria”.  In the Prophet Isaiah’s day, he had the tendency to see King Uzziah as one who truly protected the land and cared for its well-being.  When Uzziah was taken out Isaiah could then see the one true God high and lifted up and his messenger the Seraphim, there as His servants ready to fulfill His purpose in the earth.  Let us pray today that God’s people will look to the Most High God as their source and protection, not earthly leaders like the King of Assyria.
