Sunday October 17, 2021 “Lead Like a Shepherd”
2 Kings 18:30
“nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, “The Lord will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
The lying messenger of Sennacherib, Rabshakeh continued his siege on the people of God attempting to undermine the truth of God and his servants. Let us agree in prayer today on 3 focus points that will keep us in the center of God’s will for America.
Prayer Focus #1 Rabshakeh, King of Assyria’s messenger, told King Hezekiah of Judah’s servant and the people not to let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord. No one can “make you” trust in the Lord. We do that of our free will. Pray that God’s people in America will not look at Christian leaders as those who “make people” do what they know to be true. Leaders are to lead with the one truth based on God’s unchanging word. Shepherd’s lead!
Prayer Focus #2 Hezekiah was said to have told the people that God would deliver them from Sennacherib. Pray that godly politicians will do their best to hear from God before making campaign promises they know they can keep. There is nothing worse than broken promises.
Prayer Focus #3 Hezekiah supposedly said, “the city shall not be given into the hand of King Sennacherib of Assyria.” Pray that godly men and women will have a God-sent spirit of faith that enables them to confidently say, “this city, country, state or nation will not be given into the hand of the enemy.”
