Friday October 22, 2021 “I’ll Take You to a Land”
2 Kings 18:32 “32 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive groves and honey, that you may live and not die. But do not listen to Hezekiah, lest he persuade you, saying, “The Lord will deliver us.”
The messenger of the King of Syria in the previous verse told God’s people that Hezekiah was not to be trusted.
Come to me and make peace by giving me a present (tax). Here in verse 32, he says “will take you away to a land like you have now” The King of Syria promised what seemed to be too good to be true.
Pray that people with a true American spirit will recognize the lies of the enemy that works in leaders who promise great things to those in need that will be paid for by the average American paying more and more taxes. The Federal bucket is only so deep and we must all know that “give away” and tax, tax, tax can only work if there is an unending supply which is never the case.
