Sunday October 24, 2021 “No Other God”
2 Kings 18:33-35
33 Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? 34 Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? 35 Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?’ ”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
At first, the King of Syria promised great things for God’s people. “Just a little present (tax) will do.” Then there seems to be a little threat thrown at God’s people.
Prayer Focus #1: Verse 33 tells us – in other words, “No other god has been able to stand up to the king of Syria. “Why do you think your God can?” Pray that Christians in America will have the firm foundational understanding that there is only one God who can as the Psalmist wrote “keep the city.”
Prayer Focus #2: Verse 24 says, “Where are the other gods?” They are nowhere to be found. They do not exist. Pray that Christians in America will possess the knowledge to answer every man why there is only one way to recovery nation, Know and trust in the one God of the Bible.
Prayer Focus #3: Verse 35 says, “Who among the gods have delivered their country from Syria?” This is no secret. There is no other god before me, we are told in the commandments. Pray that we in America will go back to that fundamental truth – there is no other God but Jehovah. And all other sources of deliverance are unable to deliver us from those things that have come against our land. The devil hasn’t seen anything yet. God’s best is yet to come through the church.
