Sunday October 31 “New Things Needed”
2 Kings 19:3 3 And they said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah: ‘This day is a day of trouble, and rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
King Hezekiah saw what was happening in his nation and we read in Verses 1 & 2 that he humbles himself and he sent his close confidants to Isaiah the Prophet for help. Verse 3 tells us the message Hezekiah sent. The message provides some of the content and that provides us with our prayer points:
Prayer Focus #1: Hezekiah recognized that the nation was in trouble. As we vote on Tuesday let all our citizens realize America is in trouble and cast their votes along the lines of Biblical mandates that will deliver us from trouble (evil) that has been brought to the nation.
Prayer Focus #2: God had been blasphemed by the King of Assyria and his messenger. Pray that blasphemous people and their advisors will be exposed and removed from influential offices in America.
Prayer Focus #3: There was the lack of birthing new things that would bring blessing to the people in the days of Hezekiah. Isaiah prophesied the “new things would spring forth” in Isaiah 43:19. Pray that people elected to office on Tuesday will have some fresh godly ideas that will be birthed as governors and legislature practice true bi-partisanship and get America moving in the right direction once again.
