We Are The People

2 Kings 19:11-13

^“11 Surely you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the countries, destroying them completely. And will you be delivered? ¹² Did the gods of the nations that were destroyed by my predecessors deliver them—the gods of Gozan, Harran, Rezeph and the people of Eden who were in Tel Assar? ¹³ Where is the king of Hamath or the king of Arpad? Where are the kings of Lair, Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivvah?”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

The reason for this prayer movement is for people to unite their prayers for America. A nation built upon the foundations of God’s word. Tonight, let us see in 2 Kings 19:11-13 the threats of the enemy concerning other nations that attempted to fight against Assyria.

Yesterday’s focus from verse 11 was “look.” Our enemies foreign and domestic want us to look for that as an area of sensory attack like when Eve in Eden “saw” that the fruit of the tree looked like something good. Today, let us be aware of what we hear. Even when it is true, as a nation we must also beware of those nations that do not have a godly foundation and their experience in warfare and economic conditions.

Prayer Focus #1: “Be careful little ears” – not only what you hear but how you hear. Pray that with a faith – filled filter we will hear and respond to world and domestic threats and challenges.

Prayer Focus #2: The enemy of God’s people said, “do you think you can escape the attacks of Assyria?”

“Yes, we can,” for when God is for us who can be against us? Pray that God’s people in America will understand God’s faithfulness to His own and claim the land once again for God’s glory.

Prayer Focus #3: The Assyrian’s final attempt at getting to God’s people was to ask, “Have any other gods protected their nations?” Answer is there is no other God than Jehovah of Israel. Pray that our leaders in America will cease to put all religions and their “gods” on the same level as the God who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our God reigns!
