2 Kings 19:17 17 Truly, Lord, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,
Hezekiah, King of Israel, says to the one true God that for generations the kings of Asyria have totally destroyed many nations. In those days that happened through military might. In our day this has happened not only through military strength but also through political philosophy that reduces the value of an individual who is made in the image and likeness of God. This results in reducing man’s respect and honor for God their Creator. Let us pray today that we will be truthful as Hezekiah was about how man is devalued by man’s refusal to acknowledge the Lordship of the one true God.
