Sunday November 21, 2021 “See Their Reproach”
2 Kings 19:16 “16 Incline Your ear, O Lord, and hear; open Your eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to reproach the living God.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. King Hezekiah prayed that God would hear twice and see what Sennacherib did in bringing reproach on God through his messengers to Israel and Hezekiah the king.
Hezekiah was more concerned about God being reproached than what was said about God’s people and the threats made against Israel. Tonight, join us in these three prayer points in this verse.
Prayer Focus #1: Pray that Christians in America will not be more wrapped up in the fact that they are reproached by the devil and his crowd than that God is reproached. In the Book of Acts, believers prayed that God would behold the threats of Satan. When they did, God answered with powerful deliverance.
Prayer Focus #2: The king requested that God would hear what was being said by the ambassador of Assyria that was a reproach to Him. Pray that leaders in America will request help from God in understanding the threats being made against His righteousness by Satan, the enemy. God cast out Satan and one third of the angels from heaven when He heard what Lucifer (Satan) had said. He can and will do it again with every evil of the devil.
Prayer Focus #3: The king asked God to look at the reproach the King of Assyria brought on Him. Pray that God will see how the reproach upon His Name has affected people in America who break the laws of God because they lack the awe and respect for God they should have. The respect and honor God should have is missing due to the fact the Lord has been reduced in the eyes of many due to Satan’s reproach toward the Lord.
