Sunday December 12, 2021 ‘Remnant Followers”

2 Kings 19:30

“Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah
will take root below and bear fruit above.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

This verse speaks of a remnant – a group within a group of people who remain faithful to God in the midst of a threatening time for God’s people. Let us join our hearts in intercession concerning the following three prayer points:

Prayer Focus #1: The remnant escaped the corruption the nation faced. America has been following a path of corruption in recent times, but God will have a remnant. We are beginning to see that God is pouring out His Spirit and we who are remnant believers must see the beginning of God’s end time work and not despise the time of small beginnings. Pray that our eyes will be open  to see God begin to move and to accept the demands of a modern day remnant that will prepare this generation for Christ’s coming and escape the coming Tribulation.

Prayer Focus #2: Pray that this move of God will take us in the Spirit to the place where we have deep roots. The Bible tells us that prior to the Great Tribulation, there would be “beginning sorrows” that if it were possible even the elect (remnant) would be deceived. Pray that we will draw from the deep well of God’s Word.

Prayer Focus #3: Not only must we go deep to escape the time of great tribulation, we must bear fruit upward. Pray that we will not only have an inward strength but we will also bring forth fruit of reigning with Christ in the heavenly places so others might see the fruit of “heavenly places” blessings and be drawn to that same commitment as remnant followers of Christ Jesus.
