Sunday, January 16, 2022 “Patient in Troubled Days”
2 Corinthians 6:4-5
“But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Beaten and imprisoned, Paul took it all in stride. After all, the Lord spoke to him at his conversion and told him he would suffer much for the gospel.
In America today, persecution is becoming more prevalent in the lives of committed Christians – even penalty and imprisonment. There are also tumults, or fighting, going on as people are not listening to Biblical principles. Paul slept little at times and fasted. Well, not a voluntary fast. He was not fed, or his situation deprived him of food.
Let us pray today on the following 3 prayer focus points:
Prayer Focus Point #1: Pray for our brothers and sisters who are censured, fined, or even imprisoned in America for the sake of the truth.
Prayer Focus Point #2: Fighting and hard work was Paul’s lot as a believer. He fought the good fight and worked hard. Pray that God will give His people strength and grace as they stand on the solid ground of God’s Word.
Prayer Focus Point #3: Paul did not have the food nor the rest he needed as he served God with his whole heart. Pray that God will meet the basic needs of His people as they suffer for Christ’s sake taking the Gospel to a culture that is becoming more hostile toward the message and person of Jesus Christ.
