Sunday February 27, 2022 “Boasting, Remembering and Rejoicing”
2 Corinthians 7:14-16
14 For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true. 15 And his affections are greater for you as he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him. 16 Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
In these verses we find 3 themes we can focus on in our prayers tonight.
Prayer Focus Point #1: Pray that we will use biblical boasting when people perform unselfish acts of service unto others and churches to the glory of God. This boasting of Paul’s was based on truth, and he did not solicit to get anything out of anyone except love.
Prayer Focus Point #2: Titus remembered the church at Corinth with affection due to the way he recalled their obedience to Christ and the way they received him. Pray that there will be kindness and gentleness in the church and America so there will be unity together as we obey God’s commands and receive ministry from other believers and grow up into the unity of the faith that enables us to perform miracles that the world cannot deny.
Prayer Focus Point #3: Because Paul had confidence in the church at Corinth, he had great joy. Pray that the church in America will have confidence in brothers and sisters in Christ and not have competition which engenders strife. It is easy to find things to question in others but to trust our brothers and sisters takes faith so let’s trust our Christian family to act in love as we do.
