We Are The People

2 Corinthians 10:12-13

^“12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. ¹³ We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Of course, Paul is speaking to the church in Corinth, but this same attitude can be applied to nations and their leaders. Let us pray accordingly in these three focus points:

Prayer Focus Point #1: Classifying or comparing oneself we are told is not wise. Pray that Christians in America will lead the way in not branding themselves with social, racial or in any other ways that divide instead of uniting under the word of God and Christ’s Lordship.

Prayer Focus Point #2: Pray that the spirit of competitiveness will be broken among God’s people in our land and among politicians who attempt to achieve their goals by destroying others.

Prayer Focus Point #3: Paul said that he and others of his “tribe” stayed within the boundaries God set up for them. Pray that the church and our government remain inside the guardrails of safety and righteousness in relationship to the world around us.
