2 Corinthians 11:28-30

28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?30 If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

As we read in this section of 2 Corinthians 11, we find many hardships, punishment and pain in Paul’s journey of faith. In today’s verses Paul continues it seems an exhaustive list of trials he faced. Let us pray tonight for our leaders in the church who face such challenges today.

Prayer Focus Point #1: Pray that as it was with the Apostle Paul that church leaders will truly have a heart for the churches they are connected with. The “fathers” should care for the children.”

Prayer Focus Point #2: Paul didn’t try to stay away from conflict and confusion that sometime plague local churches. He was like military leaders of old that stood with the troops on the front lines. Pray that those who are serving in full time ministry will see its part of their portfolio to help churches be unified in the truth and walking in love.

Prayer Focus Point #3: Paul didn’t glory in his strengths but in his weaknesses for Christ. Pray that God’s “Generals” will be transparent concerning their suffering and sometime lack of knowing what to do. In that way, God’s people in their care will learn how to pray through and depend on God’s strength in times of weakness.
