Sunday, August 7, 2022 “Rescuing the Family
Genesis 14:15-16
15 He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. 16 So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Abram was one who cared about family. There is no doubt that the American family is under attack in so many ways. When Abram’s family was attacked and then taken captive, Abram could not rest until they were set free. Everything happens because of prayer. Let us agree on the following prayer points tonight.
Prayer Focus Point #1: Verse 15 tells us that Abram set up different fronts of attack to pursue those who took his family members captive. Let us pray that believers in America will utilize various fronts in liberating the hearts of believers. Christians can pray, persuade others, vote, and financially support ministries that expose the work of darkness that ensnare the hearts of people especially the young.
Prayer Focus Point #2: Verse 16 tells us that Abram retrieved the goods that were stolen by the warring kings that came against Lot’s family. Pray that there will be wisdom in the hearts of men of God as to how they can influence God’s people to invest wisely so they will not invest in those things that enslave the hearts of men but to the contrary liberate men in this age of confusion.
Prayer Focus Point #3: It was a primary focus of Abram to rescue his nephew Lot and his family members. Pray that we will place the highest value on people and not on things that have been taken from believers by the secular society we live in especially those things that pertain to the American family. “Things” are temporary – people are eternal.
