Monday October 17, 2022 “For Young and Old”

Genesis 17:24-27 “24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 26 That very same day Abraham was circumcised, and his son Ishmael; 27 and all the men of his house, born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.”

Circumcision was a sign that men of faith in Abraham’s household and later in the people of Israel that they were in covenant relationships with God. Notice that all were included – from young men like Ishmael to elderly men like Abraham and all the servants. So bond and free, young and old, were included in the covenant relationship.

Pray that Christians in America will have the mark of covenant with God upon their lives and that they will unify in their beliefs concerning moral issues and cultural standards in the land.
