Sunday, December 18, 2022 “Sunshine, Then the Storm”
Genesis 19:23-25
23 The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He [a]overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
When it seems that the sun is rising and things couldn’t be better and the future couldn’t be brighter, that’s when sudden destruction can come. So let us pray together according to these 3 prayer points:
Prayer Focus #1: Pray that believers in America will be able to discern between what is the light of God’s glory and human “enlightenment” that seems to be right in the eyes of man but an abomination to God.
Prayer Focus #2: God did not allow the sudden destruction on Sodom and Gomorrah until Lot was safe in Zoar. Pray that in our day as we see the Rapture of the church on the horizon, prepare for the imminent return of Jesus Christ and that we will look to that day with excitement and hope.
Prayer Focus #3: God was serious about judgement being poured out upon those who pushed the envelope so far that God could tolerate any longer what the evil one had inspired man to do. Pray that mankind in America will see what is happening in the land to deface the image of God that He has placed on every person. We must repent and call on God for mercy, forgiveness, and restoration in the lives of all Americans. We must pray especially for government leaders to open their hearts to the truth of God.
