Sunday March 12, 2023 “Worship and Return”
Genesis 22:4-5 “4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the [a]lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Father Abraham and his son Isaac would go to the appointed place of sacrifice commanded by God. The servants stayed behind while Abraham and Isaac went to the place of sacrifice.
Prayer Focus #1: After 3 days of difficult travel, Abraham looked up and saw the appointed meeting place at a distance. Today let us join our hearts in prayer that men and women of faith across America will lift our eyes and see our place of sacrifice (whatever that might be) so we are set by God in the place where He can use us to bring salvation to others even as Christ has brought solution through the sacrifice of the cross and Abraham did in typology.
Prayer Focus #2: Abraham told the young men, “You stay behind.” Pray that there will be a discernment among godly leaders that they know when they must “go it alone” when accomplishing the will of God.
Prayer Focus #3: “We will worship and come back to you.” Abraham knew well the God he served. He knew that God would not have him take the life of his only son of promise. He knew that even if that were not the case the God he served could raise him from the dead to fulfill His promise. Pray that a spirit of faith will come upon God’s people in America then return to the usual routines of life like Abraham declared to the young men of his household.
