Genesis 22:9 “Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.

Abraham followed the instructions God gave him. There Abraham prepared an altar and the sacrifice.

Prayer Focus #1: As soon as Abraham arrived at God’s pre-determined place, he built an altar which is a place of prayer. Pray that Christians in America will not be sidetracked from God’s purpose in placing us in strategic positions to change the culture and direction of our nation after we arrive at a level of education, occupation, etc. When we “arrive” it is then time to engage in prayer concerning what, when and how God will use us when we arrive.

Prayer Focus #2: Abraham bound Isaac. There are some things, activities and yes – even relationships that must be bound so something else can be loosed. Jesus said, “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and what we loose on earth is loosed in heaven.” Pray that God’s people will be willing to let go of things they must take hold of the necessary purposes of God.

Prayer Focus #3: Abraham laid his son Isaac on the altar. Pray that Christians in America will be willing to lay down the best for God’s purposes to win the hearts of America back to God. Pray that as Abraham – we will be “willing’ to let go so God can give back the most treasured so we can freely enjoy that possession or person. God led the way through example of Jesus and the cross.
