Sunday, March 26, 2023 “Because You Did Not Withold Your Son”
Genesis 22:15-17
15 Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, 16 and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son— 17 blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
This was truly the greatest test the man of God could experience. Not only lay down a child but lay down the child of promise after waiting many years and raising him to his teenage years.
Prayer Focus #1: In verse 15, we are told the angel of the Lord called Abraham a second time. This was to pronounce God’s blessing due to Abraham’s obedience. Pray that America’s leaders will hear God’s promise to the nation that chooses to obey God and choose to be obedient to our Creator.
Prayer Focus #2: God told Abraham because you were willing and obedient you will receive the blessing promised. He would have children as many as the stars and the grains of sand. Pray that we as a nation will look to the many blessings America has received from God due to our obedience to His word in taking the Word to the world. Let us also be realistic about the lack of blessing in recent times that we have chosen to please man, not God.
Prayer Focus #3: In verse 17, we are told that God told Abraham because you have not withheld your best from me, you will possess the gates for your enemies. As long as America is good, America is strong. Pray that from the Presidency to the general population, we will choose to be good. God will then deal with our enemies as He does with Israel’s enemies.
