Night Edition of “We are the People” Prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. using the focus point listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Today, as in the days of Abraham, marriage is such an important part of life. Yesterday we prayed that God’s people in America will help their children choose a godly spouse. Let us pray according to the following focus points that we who are people of faith will see the importance of guiding our children in the area of having godly husbands and wives.
Prayer Focus #1: Abraham gave his servant instructions on how to find a great wife for Isaac. Pray that parents of young adults will get to know friends and associates of their children who are committed Christians. Pray that these close friends will help our children and grandchildren find godly mates.
Prayer Focus #2: Pray for those of us who didn’t know Jesus when we were finding a mate will not encourage unequally yoked marriage for our children. Just because things “worked out” with parents’ marriage – marriage between a saved and unsaved person is always difficult.
Prayer Focus #3: Abraham was adamant – “don’t take Isaac back to where I lived before God called me.” Abraham was not raised in a home where the one true God was worshipped. Pray that God’s people will guide with a firm hand like Abraham did when it comes to helping their children find a godly spouse.
