Thursday July 11, 2013 “Seeing but not Possessing” Part 4

Numbers 27:14 “For in the Wilderness of Zin, during the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against My command to hallow Me at the waters before their eyes.” (These are the waters of Meribah, at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.)”
God charges Moses with rebellion for refusing to hallow or set apart God before the people that observed him smiting the rock and hearing Moses say to the people “Shall we fetch water for you from the rock?”
Friends, Moses couldn’t liquefy the rock any more than he could turn water to blood in Egypt.  God was performing the miraculous behind the scenes.  Moses was a chosen vessel by God to perform His will on Earth as it is in Heaven.
In America we have many who would say, “Must we do this for you?”  In doing this, leaders through a usurping pride, have failed to set God apart as the final authority.  Men have thrown prayer and the word of God out of schools, legalized the taking of innocent life and have now redefined marriage.  All is an affront to God’s Word and very nature.
Pray this day that prideful usurping of God’s authority be stopped and that there be repentance from the attitude of “look what I can do for you” and that humbly our leaders will acknowledge all that God has done and call “we the people” back to a dependence upon the Lord who has blessed us in the past.
