Sunday July 14, 2013 Prayers of Agreement – Thank you for your partnership!

Numbers 14:8&If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
These are the words of Joshua and Caleb following their visit to the land of promise with 10 other spies that saw the same land yet their report was negative due to the fact that they, along with Joshua and Caleb, saw giants in the land that God promised the children of Israel. The Israelites responded to the report of the ten spies with a negative report with fear and apprehension as they faced the future.
God “weighed in” on the issue with v. 1111 Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?”   We live in a time when elected and “appointed” officials look to polls and potentially popular political positions instead of what is best according to God’s Word and long-standing social norms. Pressure is never a proper motivator in making wise decisions.
Intercede with us tonight on these prayer focuses that give godly direction in difficult times according to Numbers 14: 8&9.
1)    Pray that we will have a humble spirit and faith in God and His word that will enable us to courageously make decisions for our individual lives and nation that will cause God to delight in us. He can then give us the blessings He intends for us to have as Americans so we can continue to bless the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2)    Pray against demonic spiritual forces that influence people to rebel against the word of God. Remember all of the people complained after they heard the negative report of the 10 spies who said that the giants facing Israel were too big for them to handle.  Joshua and Caleb refuted the report of the ten saying, “Don’t rebel against the Lord, don’t fear the people of the land – they have no protection”.
Our battle against forces of darkness has already been won through the blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. We delight the heart of God when we operate in the spirit of faith that says because Jesus has all authority in heaven and earth – so do we as His people. Pray with confidence and courage tonight as we intercede from a position of victory that leads to possession of promises that sees potential blessings ahead.
3)    Pray that we see with the eyes of faith that says “if God is for us who can be against us.” (Rom 8:31).  We must not give in to the fatalistic view of things through the lens of what is – we must see through the eyes of faith that cries out what can be if we realize that God with whom nothing is impossible is definitely on our side.  God is on the side of every person who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and professes that truth boldly and courageously through words and actions.
